CS-Cart 2.1.0 Release Candidate 1
In an effort to increase the stability of the final product, today we make publicly available the first release candidate for the next CS-Cart version 2.1.0. You’re welcome to either download CS-Cart 2.1.0 RC1 from our Help Desk.
The release candidate is intended for community feedback and individuals who want to participate in QA process as well as reviewers who can get a first look at the upcoming CS-Cart 2.1.0 and its improvements. It is not recommended for production purposes, however.
CS-Cart 2.1.0 will contain a lot more features, bug fixes and changes than previous versions. New features that require feedback include:
- – Revamped checkout process, which is more user-friendly now. See it described and discussed at Forum
- – Improved order placement. We introduced the possibility to track and isolate incomplete orders to prevent unwilling inventory changing. See it described and discussed at Forum .
CS-Cart 2.1.0 RC1 should provide a solid ground to report last-minutes bugs that need to be tackled before the final version is released. Please post them to our public bug tracker.
And if you have any suggestions about new CS-Cart features, please use our idea tracking system. Or simply discuss CS-Cart 2.1.0 RC1 with other community members at CS-Cart Forums.
Final CS-Cart 2.1.0 is scheduled to be released in early August 2010.
Hi Ahmed,
Thank you for reporting this. We’ve fixed the download link. Please try it again.
it happened again for this “cscart_v2.1.0-STANDARD-RC3.tgz”…. only 1mb
Have you any future plan to support more than one vendor ??
Yes, we do. There is a special thread in CS-Cart Community Forums discussing this issue.
Any idea at what stage the multi-vendor edition will be ready for prime time?
CS-Cart Multivendor is under development and undergoes alpha testing now. And you’re welcome to participate in testing as well. As regards the final release, we estimate that it will be ready in the middle of this fall. However, there is no tight schedule to keep.
This new version of cscart will have as well new skins? I Iove the new redesign of cscart.com website and I wonder if you can intoduce it in cscart 2.1?
No, we have no plans to equip the new CS-Cart 2.1.0 with brand new skins. Maybe a few will be added in some further releases. As regards the new design of cs-cart.com, we created it specially for our website and it’s not going to appear in CS-Cart 2.1.0 or any other further release either.
Is the download link down? I’m not able to download the package, it hangs at 1.0 MB
Hi,
I had tested version 2.1.0 from RC1 to RC3 but I still don’t see this improvmente made for version 2.0.15:
“Separate storage of product info for the products that are in the catalog and for the products that have been ordered by your customers. In previous CS-Cart versions, some of the product info in customer orders was taken directly from the product catalog, and if the store administrator changed the details of a product in the catalog, these changes also affected the customer orders. After we have placed the product info in the customer orders to a separate table in the store database, this is no longer the issue, and the store administrator can even remove a product from the catalog without changing the details of customer orders.”
Where did it go??? It was a great add on. Hope to see it in the final release.
And the live chat I hope to see the same one you use for the cscart web site. It seems great.
Regards,
Andy
Hi Andy,
This is included in all release candidates for CS-Cart 2.1, and it will certainly be included in the final release.
The live chat at cs-cart.com is powered by a third-party utility called Zopim. It is not included in the software and must be arranged separately.
No, we do plan to create special upgrade packs. Release candidates are for testing purposes only, and you should not build a live store around a release candidate. The final version is scheduled for the next week.
Hello Dimitry,
You should not start building your store around the release candidate as it is supposed for testing purposes only. Please wait until the next week, the final version is scheduled for that time.
As regards the languages in CS-Cart 2.1, it will be just the same: all language packs will be included in the default package.
