User-experience improvement is a primary contribution of AJAX to the store's overall success. Use of AJAX techniques results in decreasing page loading time and bandwidth usage. Thus, there are two evident advantages: customers don't wait long for a page to refresh and traffic is considerably reduced.

AJAX selectively modifies a part of the page displayed by the browser, and updates it without the need to reload the whole page with all its images and menus. It is possible due to the use of powerful client-side data retrieval techniques.
