New cookie consent form
CS-Cart 4.15.1 brings a cookie consent form in accordance with the EU GDPR law. Visitors can:

- see the list of services that set cookies;
- learn what those services do;
- reject non-essential cookies;
- change or withdraw their consent at any time.

We described the services in understandable terms. But you can easily edit all texts of the consent pop from the admin panel.
Price per ml, kg, unit, etc.
Meet the European Union's requirements for stores with the new Price Per Unit add-on. Set the measurement unit of a product (gram, liter, etc.), and show not only the price of the product itself, but also the price per unit (or X units).
Same price in all EU countries, even when VAT is different
CS-Cart can include VAT into prices and charge tax as per the rate that you set for the customer's country. In 4.15.1, you can show the same product price for all EU countries, while the included tax is different, depending on the customer's country.
More Possibilities, Easier Administration
These features are available in all editions of CS-Cart Multi-Vendor
Integration with Zapier
Create workflows between different apps and services with Zapier. Automate day-to-day tasks and save your time by linking processes in your CS-Cart store with other apps and services. For example, you already can:

  • Receive SMS notification about every new order.
  • Export every new order to a Google Sheet.
  • Add every new customer as a subscriber in Mailchimp or other newsletter app.
As more and more CS-Cart users adopt Zapier and share their thoughts with us, we may be able to expand the integration further.
Import from Shopify
Now you or your vendors can use the product lists exported from Shopify to:

  • Import products from Shopify.
  • Manually update their stock.
If you're launching your marketplace, you can also set up your product base and make those products available for all vendors to sell. All of this is possible thanks to the "Import from Shopify" add-on.
Quick moderation of products from vendors
The updated "Vendor Data Premoderation" add-on makes it easier to check the changes that vendors make to their products. This is especially useful for marketplaces with a growing number of vendors.

In version 4.15.1, you can quickly see what changes vendors made to their products, and compare old texts and values to the new ones. Product moderation is faster and more convenient, as the administrators know what to focus on.
Simplified product import
Start selling faster and help your vendors do the same.

The import page is more accessible. Open it directly from the list of products.
The interface is more understandable. We hid all optional settings, and now the import guides you step by step.
Uploading images is easier than ever. Upload the archive with images on the same page where you upload the import file
Import now shows what the file should look like. Let your vendors download a file with a couple of examples.
Fast launch & accessible support
We have added machine translations of CS-Cart into various languages, while our dedicated partners and community help to improve them by manual checking. Together we save time for those who want to open their sales platform as soon as possible.

CS-Cart is replete with resources that can help you with quick launch (video tutorials, documentation, blog articles, useful add-ons from Marketplace). Most of the useful information is collected in the admin panel in the Help Section. Find answers to unsolved questions by clicking the ? button—contact Customer Care and see your latest tickets directly from the admin panel.
New vendor panel
Simple and convenient. The vendor panel contains only the menu tabs and settings that vendors need to start selling right away.
Colors matching your brand. Set the colors that your vendor panel will have, and choose the background image for the sidebar.
Simple product editing. Decide what tabs and properties to show to the vendors, and what to keep hidden.
Easily customizable. Activate the "Vendor panel configurator" add-on to use the new vendor panel. Configure it in the add-on settings. No coding required.

Future Plans
New dashboard for sellers [4.16.1]

CS-Cart Multi-Vendor 4.16.1 will bring a new dashboard in the vendor panel to simplify seller onboarding. The dashboard consists of 3 sections.

1. A daily to-do list, with things like:
  • number of products that need change after a moderator's review;
  • number of new messages that might need a reply;
  • seller's outstanding debts to the marketplace, etc.
2. An onboarding guide that will help new sellers to start their business faster. You'll be able to customize it with links to your own manuals, videos, or other resources, if you'd like.

3. A section with analytics to help your sellers determine the success of their business. For example, they can see:
  • current balance (with the ability to refill it);
  • charts on orders and sales for the selected period;
  • usage of their vendor plan, and more.

Access to all our resources in one place through Help Section [4.16.1]

CS-Cart has ways to help those who are starting or expanding their business. There is documentation, tutorial videos, Customer Care service, many add-ons and themes, and special projects like CS-Cart Marketplace Academy.

All of this, and more will be available through the Help Section. In version 4.16.1, it will become much more convenient. You'll be able to access more of our services directly from the admin panel of your marketplace.

Plenty of new payment methods [4.16.1]

We are planning to add more than 20 new payment methods to our Stripe and Stripe Connect integration in CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 4.16.1.

Stripe takes into account the country and the currency of the store, so that marketplaces and single-seller stores on CS-Cart could offer new local payment methods, such as Sofort and Klarna, WeChat and Alipay, Przelewy24 and Afterpay, and many more.

Stripe updates the list of available payment methods over time. Offering your customers a payment methods that they're familiar with can increase your sales.

    New customer-friendly payment scenarios [4.16.1]

    Let customers pay for their orders in installments over time. This can make it easier for them to decide on the purchase. New payment services like Klarna and Afterpay—that we integrated through Stripe—can pay you immediately and in full. Then these services collect payments from buyers themselves.
    Payments look more secure to buyers [4.16.1]

    Leaving credit card details at someone else's site might seem risky, especially if the customer is shopping at the site for the first time. Of course, CS-Cart software uses only trustworthy payment processors and never actually stores credit card data. But even though it is absolutely safe, customers might not know that.

    Тhat's why we're adding Stripe Checkout. That payment option takes buyers from your site to the Stripe page and offers them to pay through familiar payment services. Although equally safe, the latter option may seem more safe to your clients.
    If the payment-related changes above look sweet, there's one more good thing about them—all these changes work with marketplaces too. And by that we mean Stripe Connect: a way for you to let customers make one payment, while that payment is split automatically between your marketplace and all the vendors involved in the order.

    So yes, your marketplace will absolutely be able to:
    • Offer new local payment methods through Stripe Checkout, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
    • Accept payments in installments through the likes of Klarna or Afterpay.
    • Offer a checkout process that seems more secure to customers.
    • ... and split the money automatically in all those scenarios.
    P.S. Our mobile application for marketplaces will also support Stripe Connect (but not yet Stripe Checkout and the additional payment options described above).
    On CS-Cart 5 (or rather, CS-Cart for enterprises and based on Laravel)
    CS-Cart 5 isn't an ordinary CS-Cart update. We're building it from the ground up, with different technologies. For example, it uses Laravel for the back end, will support PostgreSQL from the start, and will use GraphQL API for interactions with the front end. This will remove the constraints imposed by legacy code, and make CS-Cart 5 easier to work with for more developers.

    These big changes mean that we had to sacrifice backward compatibility with CS-Cart 4. Any existing add-ons, themes, and integrations (both ours and third-party) will have to be recreated for the new architecture. That work could take a long while, and we'd rather not have it delay the release of CS-Cart 5.

    For the reasons above CS-Cart 5 will not appear in the CS-Cart 4 Upgrade Center once it releases. We realized that the audiences of both CS-Carts are widely different, to the point that they became separate products, with their own development teams. Both of them will be receiving updates in parallel.

    CS-Cart 5 will be better suited for enterprises—larger businesses who employ in-house or third-party developers. The focal points of CS-Cart 5 will be:

    • "Mobile first" approach to design.
    • "API first" approach to architecture.
    • Performance and scalability.
    • Ease of development.

    CS-Cart 4 will remain a better choice for those who want to start their online store or marketplace quickly, and with as little coding as possible. This is due to the hundreds of built-in features, and many more available from the CS-Cart Marketplace.

    We are planning to release CS-Cart 5 in the second half of 2022 and keep enhancing it step by step. This will not affect the development of CS-Cart 4 in any way—it will keep receiving updates just as usual.
    We are committed to achieving all of the goals listed here. But circumstances and priorities for some of them may change. Before making any serious business decisions based on the information here, please contact us for details.
