Lesson 47. Content — Pages. Introduction

Content pages might be used in multiple situations in ecommerce shopping cart. They can contain instructions, tips, useful information about company, serve for SEO purposes, fill the built-in company blog, and so on.

In CS-Cart, the best shopping cart, content pages are located at Website → Pages. By default pages can be of three types — Page, Form, and Link. The type of the page is specified with grey font right to its name. Below you’ll find the description of Page properties.

The first property is Parent page. The parent page contains links to subpages. The parent page can be of any page type. If the page shouldn’t have a parent page, then it’s got to be the Root level page.

Every page must has a unique name.

Description is the content of the page that appears on a storefront.

Meta data is required for SEO purposes. Using this data search engines distinguish this page from millions of other pages in the Internet.

Then there is the Availability section. Contains everything related to access—user groups, the creation date, and availability period that poses time restrictions on the page existence.

The Add-ons tab contain all add-ons that influence pages in CS-Cart.

The additional tags tab is a product of the Tags add-on. Here all tags related to the page are entered. Later these tags can be used in a Tag cloud on the storefront of ecommerce platform for small business.

The last tab here is the Layouts tab that contains an individual page layout. Here you can enable and disable blocks and change their content. This way all your pages may look unique. That was a short introduction into the world of pages to setup a web store.
