What is a Marketplace Platform: The Fullest Explainer A Multi-Category Marketplace with PWA App
Shopmundo is the first multi-category online marketplace in the Dominican Republic, helping shape the future of eCommerce by combining easy-to-use tools for sellers with a seamless shopping experience across all devices.
We began working with Shopmundo after the marketplace owner approached our team to investigate ongoing performance issues and functional errors affecting the website. While the client also planned to introduce new features, our first priority was to identify and resolve the existing problems. Frequent bugs were generating customer complaints and negatively impacting sales.
We upgraded the marketplace and launched a Progressive Web App (PWA) to help the client improve the shopping experience and regain customer loyalty.

Implementing the Project
Our team started with a comprehensive performance audit and code review to identify accumulated issues affecting the marketplace.
We optimized the server configuration, implemented system notifications for order processing, restored the broken VisaNet payment gateway integration, and fixed the marketplace's coupon functionality.
In addition, we developed several custom features, including one-click purchasing and a virtual wallet. We also redesigned the checkout flow for products with variations, reducing purchase abandonment during checkout.
From the beginning, the client expressed interest in launching a mobile application. Instead of developing separate native apps, we proposed using Progressive Web App (PWA) solution for CS-Cart—a hybrid between a website and a mobile app. This approach significantly reduced both development time and project costs.
