CS-Cart Editions Change Names

We have a small but important update for you today.

Starting on September 14, 2013, the CS-Cart Ultimate software will be officially called CS-Cart.

CS-Cart Editions Renamed

Since the Professional edition was discontinued in the latest CS-Cart 4 release, CS-Cart Ultimate has become our flagship software. All the great CS-Cart features (except for multi-vendor functionality) are combined in this edition.

We noticed that if somebody refers to “CS-Cart”, they most certainly mean the CS-Cart Ultimate edition. So, we decided to keep it simple and leave the unnecessary title overboard.

Additionally, CS-Cart Multi-Vendor will be called just Multi-Vendor or Multi-Vendor by CS-Cart.

Note that this renaming does not change anything but the name—all valid licenses remain valid, all active subscriptions remain active, etc.

If you have any questions, feel free to use the comments section.

UPD: The official CS-Cart Multi-Vendor title will be simply Multi-Vendor.

Guys, you are changing the names of the editions too often. I am confused…

      Dear Kiril,

      Sorry to have confused you.

The lineup will be really simple though:

      – CS-Cart, the main, key product under a well-known name,
      – Multi-Vendor, the B2B solution

Just 2 products incorporating all the CS-Cart features available so far.

I hope I have clarified that for you.

    Too often, indeed.

Yes, indeed. Very bad marketing decision from your head of marketing :-(

So when i have a Pro Version, how is it called now?

    It was Cs-Cart Pro >> CS-Cart Ultimate >> and now CS-Cart , only?

      Dear Andy,

Thanks for the critique. Let me please try to advocate our case a bit here.

CS-Cart Professional was discontinued, as well as CS-Cart Community edition. All the features of these editions are now present in CS-Cart Ultimate.

After the mentioned renaming, there will be just CS-Cart, incorporating all the former Professional, Community, and Ultimate features.

We think that this simplification really makes sense: the name CS-Cart is well-known, whereas additional sub-names may be confusing.

Do you have a estimated date for the import functions from v3 to v4? Would love to get this operational on our site.

      Dear Zachary,

The release of CS-Cart 4.0.2 (which will include the import tool) is planned for September, so it’s a matter of several weeks now.

Guys, you’ve got quite a good ship (CS-Cart) but very bad captain leading ship wrong way.

Priorize goals you’ve heard from your customers. Do not play with useless features if you can’t made transition tool from v.3. It’s really shame and big mistake if you priorize everything else. People aren’t stupid and will remember this mistake. What happened when youll release v.5 e.g. in the end of the year? Your customers are shaking that CS-Cart can’t help continue runi their e-commerce software on latest version. Shame guys. Please stop doing bussiness this way.

      Dear John,

      Thank you for your critique.

We strive to make CS-Cart better day by day. It’s hard work indeed, and it should conform certain rules. Unfortunately, we cannot satisfy everyone’s needs and whims, but we always listen to our customers.
