CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 4.7.2 Are Here

Hello!

We’re happy to announce the release of CS-Cart & Multi-Vendor 4.7.2. Even though patch releases mostly contain bug fixes, there are reasons to be excited about 4.7.2.

Important Changes

    • The support of PHP 7.2 was added. We tested CS-Cart & Multi-Vendor 4.7.2 on PHP 7.2 and made the necessary changes to the code. Please note that some payment methods (WestPac, ServiRed, DPS PX Access, and SagePay) still require the mcrypt extension to be installed on your server. That extension is no longer installed in PHP 7.2 by default.
    • A problem with links to product variations was fixed. Previously, storefronts contained links to variations that looked like https://example.com/t-shirt-size-medium-color-white/. Those SEO links couldn’t be changed in the Administration panel, and they could get quite long when a variation contained many options. In 4.7.2 we fixed it, and the links to variations are now displayed properly on the storefront.
  • A problem with displayed quantity for products with required options was fixed. In version 4.7.1, the product page informed customers that the product was out of stock until these customers selected variants for every required option on the page. That could drive the customers away, so in version 4.7.2 the quantity of products is displayed only when all required options have their variants selected.

Improvements to Product Variations

    • The ability to create variations individually was added. Previously you could only generate all the required variations of a product at once via the Administration panel. Doing so would overwrite the data of existing variations. But now you can add variations without overwriting existing ones. You can also create new variations via import.
    • The support of variations was added to the Google Export add-on. That means you can now export variations to Google Merchant Center.
  • New settings were added for a block that displays the list of all variations of a product. You can now hide the thumbnail and/or code of variations. This change was requested by our customers.

Multi-Vendor Improvements

    • A new template was added for the “Vendors” block. Previously that block only allowed you to show a dull list of vendors with links to their stores. Now you can choose another template for the block: “Vendor logos and product count”. This template can also show ratings and locations of vendors. Use it to show your featured vendors.

This isn’t the full list of changes. To see the full list, please visit our changelog. The upgrades to version 4.7.2 are already available. As usual, we provide upgrades in small batches, so if you don’t see this upgrade in your Upgrade Center yet, please try again later.
