CS-Cart 4.18.3 Released with Updated FedEx and Expanded PayPal Payments

We’re excited to announce the release of CS-Cart 4.18.3! This update is crucial for keeping your store up-to-date with important changes in shipping and payments.

With our new FedEx integration and expanded PayPal features, you’ll ensure your store or marketplace continues running smoothly and meets essential security requirements.

Updating your CS-Cart will help you avoid disruptions and keep your business in line with the latest standards.

Let’s get closer to the improvements.

Stay Connected to FedEx with New Integration

FedEx has switched to their new RESTful APIs, and the old integration in CS-Cart may stop working after August 31, 2024. To keep your FedEx shipping methods active, we’ve introduced a new integration based on FedEx RESTful APIs.

CS-Cart store and marketplace owners will need to update their FedEx shipping settings to use this new integration. This will ensure you can continue shipping orders smoothly through FedEx without any disruptions.

📌 To switch to the updated integration, add a new FedEx shipping method. To do this, select “FedEx” from the Rate Calculation dropdown on the shipping method configuration page.

Obtain your credentials from your FedEx account, enter them into the new FedEx shipping method, and ensure that it works properly. Once confirmed, you can disable the shipping methods that use the old FedEx integration—“FedEx (Deprecated).”

Protect Your Sales with Expanded PayPal Complete Payments

With expanded PayPal Complete Payments, sellers now feel safer and buyers are better informed about their delivery.

CS-Cart now automatically sends both customer addresses and shipment details to PayPal when an order is placed. Here’s what that means for you:

  • PayPal gets a customer address. CS-Cart automatically sends a shipping address to PayPal, which helps protect you from fraud. PayPal’s seller protection policies don’t cover payments without a valid shipping address, and PayPal may even hold orders because of this. By sending the address automatically, you avoid those holds and stay protected. Additionally, sending the address to PayPal allows you to print shipping labels directly through PayPal, saving time and making shipping more convenient.
  • PayPal gets shipment details and tracking numbers. You can opt to send shipment details and tracking numbers to PayPal, providing added protection in case of disputes. This also keeps your customers informed, as they can track their orders easily, giving them confidence in the buying process.

📌 To make sure CS-Cart sends a customer shipping address to PayPal, tick the Send shipping address to PayPal checkbox on the Configure tab of the PayPal configuration popup.
